So the feasibility study project funding allowed us to tackle a technically risky project, which has resulted in a more broadly applicable product. It’s expanded the potential for our technology. The event today allows us to meet investors who want to be part of our ongoing success story, and anyone with connections to the niche automotive and motorsport industries.”

Oxford Advanced Surfaces has developed a range of products to address the engineering challenges of advanced materials for the automotive, aerospace, protection/defence and energy industries. Professor Moloney and Dr Griffiths set up the company at Begbroke Science Park  in 2006 to exploit novel applications of its proprietary Onto™ carbene chemistry, spinning out from Oxford University’s Chemistry department. The company’s customer base includes industrial coatings specialists and a championship winning Formula 1® constructor.

CEO Philip Spinks commented “Well done to the team and to our Technology Manager Jon-Paul for his presentation! This is a fantastic result for us – this high profile event puts us in front of potential investors and raises our profile as we look for new customers for our surface modification products.”
