Design Council Visit
Ian Ferris, of the Design Council, presented the first breakfast seminar of the Autumn 2013 Series discussing how the Design Council’s Design Leadership Programme can help companies of all sizes achieve their growth ambitions.
Focusing on how a design-led approach can support the growth of a business, the session was aimed predominantly towards technology firms. Despite this, a wide range of business sectors were represented on the day, with the seminar proving applicable to all.
Ian used relevant case studies to reveal the positive effects the Design Council’s programme of support can have. Previous clients Owlstone were used to demonstrate how working with a Design Associate to tackle some of their issues, such as identifying potential uses for their chemical detection system, allowed them to secure significant investment which otherwise may not have been possible. You can read more on this case study here.
Ian summarised the morning’s seminar to be ‘all about how business can use design to support their competitiveness’. He later went on to say the seminar was ‘aimed at a real cross section of SME businesses who may be new to using design to encourage their strategies to grow’.
If you were unable to attend, but would like to know more, Ian would be very happy to talk to you about how you might access Design Council support to help grow your business. To contact Ian either email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
