ELECTRIC CARS: IMPROVED RANGE; LONDON TO BRISTOL AND BACK ON ONE CHARGE.

Electrical Car Research Group Announce Improved Battery Performance From New Chemical Interface.

The range of Electric Cars has been the key issue regarding their popularity with the general public. New research by scientists at Begbroke Science Park in Oxford has led to a breakthrough in extending this range to allow a car to travel between London and Bristol, and make the return journey, without the need for a re-charge. According to Professor Malcolm MacCulloch the range of battery powered cars has been an issue the whole industry has been trying to solve. “Our new interface represents a step-change in the efficiency of large scale batteries, which will have uses right across science.”, said Professor MacCulloch. “For the cars we work on it means a 20% improvement in the amount of energy that can be stored, which means a much greater range.”
