To book your place please contact

The Lean Launchpad for Synthetic Biology is a program supported by Innovate UK, EPSRC and BBSRC, designed to support small teams interested in commercialising technology in Synthetic Biology.

It is focused on helping entrepreneurial researchers and early stage start-ups to identify their customers, interview them to gain insights about the opportunity, and help them build the right product for these customers.

It is delivered by seasoned entrepreneurs with experience in translating science and technology into commercial products or services. In addition each team will have access to a mentor, an entrepreneur or executive with deep business experience, to provide guidance.

In addition SynBiCite offer :

  • A DNA Synthesis & Construction Foundry – providing both assembly and characterisation platforms for synbio businesses
  • Proof-of-Concept funding –  funds available for SynbiCITE to invest in start-ups

SynBiCite is keen to offer this programme in Oxford, but to do so needs 2 crucial elements of support:

  • Businesses who are willing to share some of their experiences to be mentors (as outlined above)
  • Early stage start-ups who are working with engineered biology and businesses who would be interested in becoming industry partners with an academic team applying for Proof of Concept funding.

If you would like to hear more: Stephen Chambers (SynbiCITE-CEO) will be discussing the Lean LaunchPad Programme on Thursday 17 March at The Begbroke Science Park between 8:30 – 9:30 am.
