Exploring the unknown ocean: new Nekton Mission to Indian Ocean launching in 2018

News updates from Nekton | September 2017

Greetings from Oxford,

We are thrilled to share news that our next Mission to the Indian Ocean will begin in 2018. This comes after our  first successful expedition, the XL Catlin Deep Ocean Survey. In the coming weeks, we will be launching the Nekton Protocol [GOSSIP – Global Ocean Survey & Sampling Iterative Protocol], a new framework for multidisciplinary marine research at Our Ocean in Malta. We are also proud to share Submarine STEM, our new educational programme with practical activities and 360-degree Virtual Reality stories for young people globally.

So far, we have united 40 leading organisations from across marine science, ocean policy, business, communications and civil society into a Nekton Alliance which is now at the core of our operations. We are grateful for all your support and look forward to building on our success together in the year ahead.
