Oxford Advanced Surfaces adds new trial spray-applied plastics adhesion promoter to portfolio

Oxford Advanced Surfaces LogoOxford Advanced Surfaces has developed Onto™ EP1030, a spray-applied adhesion promoter as a further addition to the EP1000 series of products. The treatments in this series promote the adhesion of polyurethane and epoxy-based coatings to difficult-to-bond substrates such as engineering plastics and plastic composite substrates such as PEEK and PPS. Following a successful grant application for the value of £33,000 from Innovate UK, this project has now been completed and Evaluation Packs of the treatment are now available for trial.

Philip Spinks, CEO, commented “The spray treatment is a great addition to our portfolio of adhesion promoters as it helps us to satisfy a greater number of market needs. It provides a manufacturing-friendly bonding solution that is applicable to our target sectors including aerospace and automotive where spray techniques are often used to apply coatings to substrates”.

Sarah Vickers, Marketing and Product Manager at OAS said “The spray treatment will be suited to applications in which the substrate to be coated is not flat, or for large area applications where other techniques are not viable. We now have EP1000 treatments that can be applied by spray, brush dip and bar coating methods”.
