Science & Sport Come Together At Begbroke Science Park’s Annual Sports Day
Begbroke Science Park’s annual Sports Day took place on the 20th July 2016. This popular event gives Professionals, Professors, Doctors and Students all the chance to prove their athletic abilities and competitive streaks whilst getting together and having some fun.
After huge interest was shown and with many people wanting to take part, twelve teams went head to head in Begbroke Farmhouse’s walled garden, bringing life and community spirit for the day. Crowned overall champions were “The Fiery Anteaters” more commonly known as Oxford Advanced Surfaces, as they gently cruised their way to victory. In hot sunshine, lots of fun and entertainment were had by both participants and onlookers, as they either competed fiercely or just relaxed in the surroundings enjoying the sunshine, the Bbq and social exchanges.
In second place were “The Rowdy Roetgens” an Adaptix team in their debut appearance at Begbroke’s Sports Day – showing that they could be a possible contender to perhaps make their way on to Begbroke’s Winner’s Trophy! Very closely followed in third place with only one and a half points between the two were Thermofluidics, making the competition extremely close.
The eagerly awaited Tug of War ended the afternoon’s games with Thermofluidics seeing off all the other teams to be the Tug of War Champions with “Free Ice Cream” from WheelRight a solid second.
Thank you all for coming along and taking part and well done everyone. We shall look forward to seeing you all back again next year
