On Wednesday 27 June, Oxford University Science Park, Begbroke was delighted to host a panel and networking event as part of the inaugural Ox Tech Week.

Ox Tech Week is a newly launched technology and innovation festival, taking place across the region. It brings together startups, investors, industry, policymakers and community organisations with a shared goal to promote the region as one of the world’s leading technology and innovation ecosystems.

The Begbroke event – “From lab to global impact: growing a successful spinout” – showcased the breadth of innovation on site, with four tenants generously sharing their insights from their entrepreneurial journeys so far and detailing how their technologies and research are addressing current global challenges.

Facilitated by Dr Siobhan Dennis, Begbroke’s Engagement Manager, the panel included:

  • Amaury van Trappen de Buggenoms, Co-Founder and CEO, A&B Smart Materials
  • Dr Jane Jin, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, OXCCU
  • Dr Belén Arias, Science Manager for Species Discovery and Sequencing (Ocean Census programme), Nekton
  • Vassilis Ragoussis, CEO, OXECO.

The event concluded with Q&A and a networking session, providing guests and members of the Begbroke community the chance to connect over refreshments. We were thrilled to receive solid 5-star reviews in post-event feedback, and look forward to hosting similar events in future.
