It was a stand-out night for Begbroke Science Park tenants at the 2025 Cherwell Business Awards, with OXECO and Repolywise taking home three awards between them.
Held at The Chesterton Hotel, the event brought together businesses from across the Cherwell District to celebrate business excellence, with 30 finalists recognised across 12 award categories.
Vassilis Ragoussis, CEO at OXECO, was named Business Person of the Year. A deep tech spin-out from the University of Oxford’s Department of Chemistry, OXECO designs, develops and manufactures coatings and materials for the transport and clean technology sectors.
Dr Bryan Ng, Founder and CEO of Repolywise, received Young Business Person of the Year, and Repolywise won the Innovation Award. Also originating from the University of Oxford’s Department of Chemistry, the start-up is developing innovative solutions to tackle the global plastic waste crisis.
The wins follow nominations for both companies in the Innovation Award category, with Vassilis Ragoussis and Dr Bryan Ng also recognised individually in separate categories. Read what they said about their nominations here.
Reflecting on the evening, Elaine Walder, Director of Begbroke Science Park, said:
