Oxford University Begbroke Science Park is dedicated to attracting and inspiring the young scientists of the future! Our schools events programme inspires students to continue studying science in Higher Education and offers practical workshops for teachers, including learning resources to take back to the classroom.

The workshop activities are combined with tours of the science park’s world-class research labs, giving students and teachers a fascinating insight into the depth and breadth of career opportunities in STEM subjects.

Innovation Showcase – 6th March 2024

The Innovation Showcase guides year 9/10 students as they turn their “bright idea” into a commercial product that they will take to market. The day is designed to give students an insight into setting up and running their own business, and the skills and behaviours required of entrepreneurs. It encourages creative thinking, teamwork and communication skills and will enthuse and invigorate young minds.

Practical Nanoscience Workshop for KS3 – 26th June 2024

Our popular Practical Nanoscience Day invites year 8/9 students to explore and understand the idea of nanoscience and to realise the potential of new developing nanotechnologies in our world today.

Hands-on fun with practical experiments to engage and inspire your Key Stage 3 students!

Practical Nanoscience Workshop for Teachers – July: dates to be confirmed

Practical Nanoscience workshops for BTEC, KS3, KS4 and KS5 science teachers. The day provides skills and take-away resources to teach nanoscience in the GCSE/GCE chemistry and BTEC science curricula. With laboratory tours providing insights into advanced research techniques, inspirational lectures, practical exercises and materials to take back to the classroom, this course is a “must-do” for all science teaching staff looking to engage their students in STEM subjects.
