We are a joint spin out company from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the world’s first!
We make semiconducting nanocrystals called perovskites. These are nano sized particles which emit light at specific wavelengths. We can tune the wavelength very accurately by tweaking the composition of our materials. Our aim is to use this material in display panels from smart phones to televisions. By using our products, the customers will have two benefits. Firstly, they will see a very pure colour, enhancing the viewer experience. Secondly, the display unit will use considerably less energy, enabling devices to become up to 70% more power efficient.
We were established in 2017, and originally worked out of the Physics Department at Oxford University. We moved to Begbroke Agile lab in June 2020. The Agile lab has benefited us as it has provided the bench space and fume cupboards we were looking for.
As a company we sent samples of material to potential customers and were able to raise significant venture capital funding in September 2021. With this money we aim to expand the company and to find an enlarged laboratory facility in the Oxford area.
